Working in the Waiting

As we wait with bated breath for the grand opening of a space where we can all belong, SOMETHING must be done. And so, I turn to curbside service so we can start to get to know one another and learn what flavors of tea we all like best. Who knew the delays would be this long, but I appreciate everyone's encouragement and patience in the waiting.
Let's see what's happened so far.
A regular job/career was not coming to me nor I to it in spite of carefully crafted resumes and cover letters. I was challenged to think about what I'm passionate about. Self-reflection revealed that I really like to see people come together and know that they belong. Developing relationships takes time and effort, but watching people grow is ALWAYS worth it.
How could I combine my passions with a business idea to make some money to support myself and my 2 children? By offering snacks and beverages because people bond over food. It's as basic as breathing. There's just something about meeting together over a plate of treats and a cup of something yummy that is relaxing and enjoyable.
But, there are already 2 coffee shops in this little town, AND a bakery. The area doesn't really need much more. Where do I fit? There's no place for people to just hang out with their coffee and donuts. I can meet a need. Bring your coffee and donuts or treats to my little corner and take a moment to sit and enjoy.
But, the space is not yet ready for occupancy. I will keep on working to get the space ready and in the meantime, I welcome you to enjoy the beginnings of what will be offered by swinging by my house and grabbing your cup of delicious tea. I'll bring it to your car myself and serve it with a smile.
